The Best Home Remedy for Acid Reflux – 4 Ways You Can Try At Home

· 2 Comments · Acid Reflux Remedies

There are a number of different things that you can use in a home remedy for acid reflux, some of which will have been passed down through the generations and some of which may actually been proven to work. Either way, you will never know whether or not they will work unless you try them out, so why not look at some of these for the relief of the symptoms of your acid reflux?

1. One of the first types of home remedy for acid reflux uses apple cider vinegar diluted in water to be drank while eating dinner. This may not seem to be an attractive option to those that do not particularly like the taste of vinegar anyway, but which is worse – having the symptoms of acid reflux after you have eaten or drinking one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in half a glass of water?

2. Another home remedy for acid reflux which tends to be rather popular is ginger and to be more specific, a ginger supplement in tablet form which can be bought from most health shops. It is said to work the most effectively when taken straight after consuming a meal and most acid reflux websites also suggest that ginger is one of the best natural types of relief for this condition.

3. Fennel seeds are another thing which can be used as a home remedy for acid reflux and for these to work, it is reported that they must be taken after dinner and chewed thoroughly to be able to make the most out of their anti-acid reflux properties.

4. There are various herbal teas which can be used to combat this condition or at least minimise the effects that it has on one’s life, but the two that are said to work rather well together are Anise and Lavender.

Some varieties also suggest that mixing in these two ingredients with peppermint which has become a popular home remedy for things such as heartburn, but this is also said to relax the LES valve which is meant to prevent acid leaking so it is best trying this and if it doesn’t work, stop taking it.

These various forms of home remedy for acid reflux are said to work by years of trial and error, passed down from a Grandmother to her grandchildren and so on, but in reality most of these methods have not actually been clinically studied, so perhaps speaking with a medical professional prior to trying them is the better option to make sure than instead of making the acid reflux condition better, you are making them worse!

Is having a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar harmful? I tried it and was in severe pain in my through and felt like I was losing my voice. (someone had suggested I try it this way). Now I am afraid to even have it diluted being that even a sip of wine burns my stomach. How does the vinegar scientifically help and not reduce the protective linings we have in our stomach and esophagus?

Stop taking it if it burns….apple cider vinegar is just a suggestive treatment…if there is burning….go to a doctor…you may have a damaged esophagus
